According to a recent ɾumоr, Real Madrid has submitted a special request to UEFA in advance of their Champions League quarterfinal matchup with Manchester City.
When Carlo Ancelotti’s team plays City, the reigning European champions, inside the renovated Bernabeu on Tuesday night, they will be hoping to make a statement.
To be exact, Los Blancos are going all out for the first leg of the quarterfinal.
According to a report from The Athletic, Madrid intends to make the atmosphere “as raucous as possible,” and is reportedly going to approach UEFA for permission to use the stadium’s roof.
In an attempt to have the upper hand against Pep Guardiola’s club, supporters have planned a “spectacular” welcome in addition to the planned roof shutdown.
And it doesn’t end there. The team has planned a 360-degree paper mosaic to cover the whole length of the Bernabeu in white and purple paper before the game.
According to the Spanish publication Ok Diario, these will be arranged on the seats. This hasn’t been done since the epidemic due to ongoing renovations.
Rodrygo is someone who is aware of the enormous work that lies before of them.
The Brazilian declared, “There are no bad or medium [City] players.” “I cannot think of a single player who I would sаy, ‘I’m going to press him because he is not good and he will give us a goal or a great chance.'”
“They have excellent control of both the ball and the game. It’s an extremely challenging squad and a really lovely game. Playing against them is really frustrating, but I have faith in our group.
Regarding the renovated Bernabeu, Real Madrid published a video last year showing off the unique retractable pitch at the stadium.
Each area of the pitch may be buried and replaced with a concrete surface suitable for concerts or other sporting events with the simple push of a button.
On the day of the match, the grass is brought back to ground level, and as you can see here, every area of the pitch slides back into place in a smooth and efficient manner.
