Through AFP, coach Mikel Arteta believes that Arsenal is capable of defeating Bayern Munich in the second leg, to win tickets to the semi-finals of the Champions League.
Arsenal are in extremely good form going into 2024, while Bayern have faced a crisis-filled campaign. But the Gunners only had a 2-2 draw with the German representative at the Emirates because of some defensive mistakes.
Mikel Arteta’s team soon opened the scoring thanks to Bukayo Saka. But very quickly, Serge Gnabry helped the away team equalize. Also in the first half, Harry Kane’s penalty kick put Bayern ahead. Fortunately, in the second half, Arsenal did not make a mistake and equalized 2-2 thanks to Leandro Trossard.
Coach Arteta spoke up: “We will return to Munich. We still have many opportunities. Things will become difficult and the players understand that they have to improve their level.
Today, we made some mistakes. Let’s learn from it. These players are unbelievable. It’s part of football. Please support them.
I feel the trust there. We will go to Munich and have a chance to win . We will get better in certain areas and that’s how we will prepare for the match.”
