When Arsenal visits Wolves on Saturday night, they will be hoping to restart their season in the right direction.
The Gunners dropped two points behind Manchester City in the Premier League title chase and were eliminated from the Champions League after suffering two losses in a four-day span. Manager Mikel Arteta is compelled to defend his team after a terrible week.
Although he acknowledged that his team had been put to the test, he emphasized that their goal is still to finish the season strong. William Saliba, the current star of Arsenal, has been called a “disaster” by former captain William Gallas.
Additionally, club legend Ian Wright informed Arteta that his team has a long way to go before they can be deemed successful. Mirror Football compiles all of the most recent Arsenal news here.
Dubbed a “disaster” by Saliba.
According to former captain of Arsenal William Gallas, William Saliba might be a “disaster”. Saliba has been a mainstay for the Gunners for the last two years, but he has not been able to establish himself with France internationally.
“Unfortunately, it’s difficult for William Saliba to be in the France eleven because you have Konaté and Upamecano,” Gallas stated to GFFN. Because he is inconsistent, Saliba can be a disaster at times and a fantastic player at others.
“That’s why it’s a big problem for Didier Deschamps to know exactly who is going to be the number one, or the partnership at centre-back!”
After Arsenal’s Champions League elimination, the legendary Ian Wright has maintained that there is still more for the previous team to learn. Wright cited right-back Ben White’s contribution to Bayern’s pivotal victory goal as support for his ideas.
“For him to be going across to close down a guy with that much time, just in and around the box to cross it into a very dangerous area, where another load of our players were on their heels, it’s what we’ve got to learn,” he said on the podcast Wrighty’s House.
“Because they still need to learn certain skills, I will be patient with this squad. Then, regardless of what anyone says, you do need someone with the X-factor, someone who exudes a Kevin De Bruyne aura, because they do make things happen.”

Arteta responds angrily to critiques
Even after watching his team’s campaign fail, Mikel Arteta, the manager of the Gunners, has responded angrily to criticism of his team. As they prepare to travel to Wolves on Saturday, Arteta thinks there is still plenty to play for.
We are now totally concentrated on the ties that lie ahead of us. Even though we’re behind City by a game, we’re going to really try. Frequently, it’s because the margins with which we compete are determined in May,” he stated.
“You need to be really consistent before that. We paid the price for missing our opportunities to win the match against Villa. We should have won. These days, it’s not about saying too much; instead, we as Wolves need to demonstrate our might.”
