Aaron Ramsdale arrived at Arsenal from Sheffield United worth £24 million in the summer of 2021. He was the Gunners’ number one goalkeeper before David Raya landed at Emirates.
Ramsdale’s future has been the subject of much speculation in recent months and this summer transfer window could very well see the English goalkeeper’s departure.
According to TEAMtalk, Arsenal asked its opponents to pay 60 million pounds to the negotiating table if they wanted to own Ramsdale’s signature. This fee will make him the second most expensive goalkeeper of all time, behind only Kepa Arrizabalaga – who joined Chelsea for £71.6 million from Athletic Bilbao in 2018.
Chelsea is currently interested in Ramsdale, even though they already have an excellent Djordje Petrovic in goal. In addition, Newcastle also wants to bring Ramsdale to St James’ Park.
This season, Ramsdale has rarely been trusted by Mikel Arteta. However, every time Ramsdale came on the field, he only played at an average level. There was even a match where Ramsdale made a disastrous mistake that almost cost Arsenal points.
