Jurrien Timber has been sidelined for more than 8 months due to an ACL injury. However, Timber is now stepping up his rehabilitation process with the club’s medical staff. The 22-year-old just got his first minutes of action since August against Blackburn on Monday.
Arsenal’s rookie even scored a super goal on the day he played for the youth team. Timber seems ready to reappear, so before that, Mikel Arteta now hopes he can play an important role in Arsenal’s first team.
When asked if Timber could play in the match against Tottenham at the weekend, the Spanish coach shared:
“The recovery process is going fast. Let’s see how he feels. He’s training well and seems ready to return. Timber needs warm-up matches, the team will evaluate if he’s okay.” Will I be able to return to play on the weekend?
“I will try to bring him back with us in the final matches.”
When asked about Timber’s chances of being included in the Dutch squad for this summer’s Euros, Arteta added:
“ At the moment, everything seems very far away because he hasn’t played any matches yet .”
