Crush Brighton, Man City approaches Arsenal

Man City’s away match at Brighton is the latest match in round 29 of the Premier League. The defending champion easily won all 3 points thanks to a 4-0 victory to rise to second place in the rankings.

After the opening whistle, Man City pushed their attacking formation higher. The away team did not have to wait too long for the opening goal. In the 17th minute, Walker crossed the ball from the right wing and De Bruyne flew and headed the ball into the top right corner of the goal. An excellent but also lucky finish from De Bruyne.

The early opening goal helped the playing spirit of Man City players relax. Continuing to maintain strong offensive pressure, Man City quickly found the second goal. In the 26th minute, Foden took a free kick right in front of the penalty area. He kicked the ball, hit Gross, changed direction and went into the net.

Brighton did not leave an impression in attack, not only that, but mistakes in defense sunk this team’s hopes of getting a point. In the 33rd minute, Brighton players refused to clear the ball but passed it back and forth in the penalty area while a large number of opposing players approached. Man City successfully cut the ball and Foden quickly scored from the top of the penalty area to increase the score to 3-0.

With 3 goals after just over 2/3 of the first half, Man City was on the verge of victory. The away team was no longer too eager to attack after gaining a safe enough advantage, then Guardiola let his players play defensive counter-attack. Brighton had more of the ball for the remainder of the first half, but the home team could not penetrate Man City’s solid defense.

In the second half, Man City continued to play defensive counter-attack, Brighton did not have a breakthrough in attack, but the home team’s old mistakes continued to repeat. In the 62nd minute, Man City’s players won the ball in the opponent’s half and organized a quick attack. Alvarez neatly finished and defeated goalkeeper Steele to increase the score to 4-0.

With no hope of getting a point, Brighton played hard in the remaining time to find an honorable goal, but the home team could not find a way to penetrate Man City’s defense so they had to sadly lose at home.

Winning 3 more points, Man City has 76 points and rose to second place, one point behind top team Arsenal but the defending champion has only played 33 matches.
