Kai Havertz
In his first season with the Gunners after being signed from Chelsea for 65 million pounds, Havertz was always the name everyone mentioned and was suspected of. But Arteta always believed in the German player and was not disappointed.
Havertz’s mobility and flexibility are exceptional. He can play well whether as a midfielder, on the wing, or as a central striker. Arsenal simply wouldn’t be better without the 24-year-old.
Jorginho
Jorginho’s impact after arriving at the Emirates in January 2023 was minimal. This season, the Italian international has regained his best form while working with Declan Rice. At the age of 32, in his first full season with the Gunners, Jorginho played at the same level as when Chelsea won the Champions League and Italy won EURO 2020.
Jorginho has great vision and the ability to read the game to move the ball properly. He gradually asserted himself as a very important name for the Gunners.
David Raya
Raya has made significant progress since the 2022-23 season, when he remained a key stopper at Brentford. Actually, there were many doubts and dissatisfaction when Arteta recruited Raya and chose the Spanish goalkeeper to start instead of Aaron Ramsdale.
After an unstable start, Raya proved to be the right deal for Arteta to make. He played an important role in Arsenal’s comprehensive improvement. Compared to Ramsdale, Raya appears calmer in tense moments and distributes the ball better to help Arteta run the game as desired.
Bukayo Saka
Saka’s high potential and extraordinary talent have been confirmed, but it feels like this is the season where the English star reaches world-class – contrary to Rio Ferdinand’s assessment.
Saka still knows how to bully opposing defenders thanks to his excellent technique through his monstrous left foot. The 22-year-old winger’s ability to use his non-dominant foot is also more complete. The number of 18 goals and 14 assists after 44 appearances in all competitions does not cover Saka’s contributions to the home team at Emirates Stadium.
Kiwior Jakub
Kiwior is possibly one of the most underrated players in the Premier League right now and his progress since signing at the Emirates is clear.
The 24-year-old Polish player had a slow start in London after leaving Spezia in January 2023. Then, with Arsenal’s injury situation, he knew how to take advantage of the opportunity. Kiwior plays an important role in the Arsenal defense. Anyway, he still needs to improve his attacking ability, especially in linking with the front line players.
