Arsene Wenger has been giving Mikel Arteta, the manager of Arsenal, advice on how to finish a season in which his team wins the Premier League title. The Frenchman had a prosperous 22-year reign in North London, winning three top-flight titles.
The only English club to be undefeated in the top division for the whole season since 1900 is Wenger’s storied Invincibles squad from 2003–04. It has been twenty years since that campaign that the North Londoners last experienced a league victory.
Last season, Arsenal let up a seven-point advantage in the last three months of the season and struggled in their attempt to win the title against Manchester City. Despite City having a game in hand, Arteta’s club leads the Premier League by a point, so far managing to avoid a repeat.
Arteta has enlisted Wenger’s assistance to make sure there are no more mistakes, and he is hoping his team can persevere through a challenging run-in, which culminates with Sunday’s North London Derby.
Many players are undoubtedly aware of certain significant events in our history, Arteta remarked. Now, the focus is on writing our own history.
“I have had a few conversations with Wenger. Some of the themes were how they won and what happened in the later phases. Back when I was a player, he used to talk about that. It is in the hard disk at all times.
“At the end of the season, it all comes down to finding a way to win the game,” That concludes our discussion. Looking at how they won the titles shows you may approach it in different ways.
And how they prevailed in some games by extremely narrow margins. That’s what he always talked about, the narrow margins. And who will seize the opportunity to make it happen?
