Through Metro, former football player Owen Hargreaves praised Declan Rice for Arsenal.
Arsenal spent a club record sum of £105 million to make Rice the most expensive English player of all time. Obviously with expectations of such a price, Rice will have to deliver world-class performances.
The England international has long been known as a defensive player, taking on a holding role in midfield and even playing as a center-back for West Ham’s Under-23s and in his first full season with team one.
Immediately, Rice shined brightly in the Arsenal shirt. This player is considered the difference, helping the home team at Emirates Stadium to advance strongly.
Witnessing this, former player Owen Hargreaves commented: “Last season, I don’t think you would see a player as influential as Rice. That’s what Rice brought to Arsenal. That’s his personality”. That’s what you need.
I think Rice is at his best when the team is in trouble. I like that Arsenal recovered and won back-to-back. They have achieved a lot this season. Arsenal is in a different position. They are ready to move forward if Man City stumbles.”
