Vinicius Jr., a sensation for Real Madrid and Brazil, is the latest celebrity to join Pepsi’s worldwide ambassador roster. The example set by his fellow Brazilian and idol, Ronaldinho, motivates him to achieve this. The collaboration between Art of Football and the company pays homage to the football advertisements that ran in the early 2000s.
With almost 20 years of iconic football advertising under their belts, Pepsi and football share a fond and storied past. Ronaldinho, Beckham, Henry, Totti, Roberto Carlos, and many more world-renowned footballers will race through various locations, including medieval battlefields and rail stations. “Nutmeg Royale,” the newest TV commercial, pays homage to the brand’s most iconic early advertising while including a slew of famous and talented individuals.
Twenty years ago, Pepsi collaborated with football artists to create a collection that served as a tribute to the occasion and an apt introduction to Vinicius Jr. as the latest worldwide brand ambassador for the firm.
One year prior to Pepsi x [AoF] came out the Golden Cabane collection, which paid tribute to Pepsi’s renowned football competition that started twenty years ago with retro-styled items. The collection features accessories including bucket hats, shoulder bags, and tote bags that feature two or more brands. The ensemble is completed with a replica of the football jerseys worn by Pepsi in the early 2000s.
