Statistics from Opta show that Luka Modric is the oldest player in Real Madrid’s history to play in La Liga.
Specifically, Luka Modric became the oldest player to play a La Liga match for Real Madrid. At 38 years and 238 days, the Croatian midfielder surpassed the record of legendary Ferenc Puskas of 38 years and 233 days.
Not to mention, Modric also reached 25 titles – the most in Real history. This achievement is comparable to Nacho, Karim Benzema, and Marcelo.
There was a time when the Croatian midfielder was said to have felt disrespected because of his little playing time since the beginning of the year. Relevo revealed that Modric was dissatisfied with being made redundant at Real Madrid.
Despite those difficulties, Modric still made important contributions to Los Blancos. Recently, he has been continuously given opportunities to play by coach Carlo Ancelotti.
In the summer of 2023, Modric rejected many offers from the Saudi Pro League and MLS to continue with Real. Currently, Modric’s future continues to become unpredictable.
Coach Carlo Ancelotti personally affirmed: “Modric will never accept. He doesn’t want to sit on the bench, I know that clearly.
He never stops training and fighting… He always has passion and an extremely strong will to fight. Obviously, Modric will never accept being made redundant.”
