Before making a better offer for the Ajax defender, Arsenal and Jurrien Timber are almost at personal terms.
Mikel Arteta has identified Timber, Declan Rice, and Kai Havertz as his three top summer signing targets.
Timber and the Gunners have reached an agreement in principle about personal matters.
According to Mail Sport, Timber will make at least £90,000 a week at the Emirates, with attainable add-ons bringing his pay closer to £120,000.
Once the 22-year-old’s transfer cost is settled upon by Arsenal and Ajax, those conditions will be legally agreed upon.
The Premier League team has made an offer of £30 million, which Ajax has previously turned down. The club plans to make another offer in the next few days.
The Holland international is keen to join Arsenal, and once the two teams agree on a deal, the transfer should happen soon.
Havertz will finalize his move from Chelsea to the Emirates in the upcoming days, following last week’s agreement between the parties to pay up to £70 million.
Talks between Arsenal and West Ham regarding a transfer for Rice, their top transfer target, are also ongoing.
The Gunners have already had two bids for Rice rejected, the most recent being for £90 million.
Their third proposal will be more in line with the £100 million that the Hammers are requesting. Rice is eager to join Arsenal despite Manchester City’s interest.
