According to journalist Charles Watts, Arsenal really wants the signature of midfielder Moises Caicedo to pair with Declan Rice.
In the Daily Briefing column of CaughtOffside, journalist Charles Watts commented that Arsenal really wants Moises Caicedo and has the ambition to sign the Ecuadorian international to play alongside Declan Rice.
“Caicedo was a player they really wanted and were willing to pay big money for. But they wouldn’t pay what Brighton were asking so they left after seeing multiple bids rejected in January 2023,” said Watts.
“Obviously they have signed Declan Rice for next summer, but as far as I know they will still be chasing the West Ham captain even if they get Caicedo in the summer. The plan was always to try to get both, not one,” Watts added.
The journalist then asserted: “He is clearly an excellent player and I think we would have seen him reach his peak form sooner if he had moved to Arsenal instead of Chelsea.”
This season, Chelsea has brought in a series of rookies with a large amount of investment. However, they are still only ranked 7th on the rankings and will make more efforts if they want to have tickets to the European Cup.
