Arsenal hold talks with ‘next Bukayo Saka’ in desperate attempt to agree terms

Several major teams are showing interest in Amario Cozier-Duberry, a young winger, so Arsenal is still hoping to lock him down to a new deal.

The 18-year-old’s current contract is set to expire at the end of June. Former Gunners midfielder turned academy coach Jack Wilshere has already likened the player to Bukayo Saka. The Premier League clubs keeping an eye on the issue include Newcastle and Wolves, and a move overseas has not been completely ruled out.

Talks have been held, but Arsenal is keen to keep him on staff since they think he will soon contribute to the first team. However, neither the athlete nor his representatives have made a decision.
With nine goals and five assists in the league, Cozier-Duberry was nominated for the Premier League 2 Player of the Month award for April. Additionally, in four UEFA Youth League games, the teenager scored twice.

Hailed as the “jewel of the club’s academy,” he has been an unutilized replacement in the past but has practiced frequently with Mikel Arteta’s first team this season.

Amario Cozier-Duberry has already been compared to Bukayo Saka.
Arsenal were sixth in Premier League 2, but last Friday they defeated Manchester United 6-2 in the opening round of the playoffs, with two goals from Cozier-Duberry. On Saturday lunchtime, the young Gunners will play Chelsea at Meadow Park.

And although the Saka analogy would be seen as too much to ask of a young shoulder, Wilshere, the Under-18 head coach, claims that the 5′ 7″ and 9.5 stone wide player sometimes seems “unplayable.”
Mikel [Arteta] likes Mario, and he’s really dynamic, Wilshere said to The Athletic last year. “He plays in the same position as him, reminds me of Bukayo Saka, and needs to improve his decision-making like Bukayo did, but he’s definitely exciting.”

He becomes unplayable at times. Give him the ball, and he will do the talking. When you have people like that, you have a shot, even if you can put together a team and have a plan.
