Harder-hitting admirers, though, have criticized his choice of gym area décor.

Saliba put up a photo of himself in the gym next to a poster of basketball greats Dennis Rodman, Scottie Pippen, and Michael Jordan from the Chicago Bulls.

But what really infuriated fans was the picture of Tommy Shelby and Arthur from Peaky Blinders.

Someone said: “Glad he’s possibly staying but having Peaky Blinders posters on your walls holy cringe.”
The Daily Star put forth another suggestion, which said, “Love the bloke but Peaky Blinders fetishisation is a sackable offence.”

One more said, “Get him sold.”
Some were more complimentary, remarking, “I like that Thomas Shelby is in the background.”

Still, not all supporters were persuaded by Saliba’s house upgrades to sign a new contract.

“He’s put a running machine in a shed,” an admirer continued. I’m not sure if this means he plans to sign a new deal.”

Saliba hasn’t played for Arsenal in the previous eight games, and Mikel Arteta’s team has only managed one clean sheet throughout that run of play.

There’s a potential Rob Holding and Jakub Kiwior will replace him and he won’t be able to play again this season.
