Not only ready to welcome Kylian Mbappe, Real Madrid also wants to bring back another strong candidate for the Golden Ball title in the future. That is Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Florian Wirtz.

Mbappe is expected to be officially announced as Real Madrid’s next Galatico after the 2023/24 Champions League final ends. The French striker announced his farewell to PSG at the end of this season after his contract expired.

Mbappe’s presence will make Real’s star-studded squad even more “terrorist”. Previously, White Vultures continuously brought in the world’s top young stars such as Jude Bellingham, Vinicius Junior, Aurelian Tchouameni, Eduardo Camavinga, Rodrygo, and Endrick.

But the shopping spree for Real’s precious gems will not stop. According to Marca, president Florentino Perez will look to sign Bayer Leverkusen star Florian Wirtz at the beginning of the 2025/26 season. 

Wirtz was one of the players with standout performances in Leverkusen’s spectacular unbeaten season under Xabi Alonso. He scored 18 goals and had 19 assists in all competitions.

The 21-year-old is said to be attracting the interest of Premier League teams. But Marca said Real has also followed his progress for many years. And once this team wants it, it is difficult for them to miss any goal.

Wirtz is under contract with Leverkusen until 2027 and it is believed that teams interested in him will have to pay a huge fee to take this player away from the Bay Arena.

In addition to Wirtz, Real is also negotiating with River Plate about 16-year-old prodigy Franco Mastantuono. They continue to target the most talented young players in South America, after signing Endrick from Palmeiras.

Alphonso Davies of Bayern Munich may be about to join the Bernabeu team in the upcoming transfer window. Meanwhile, negotiations over Lille defender Leny Yoro are also underway.
