Striker Odion Ighalo has described his time playing for Manchester United as the most memorable of his career.
According to Ighalo, he faced many difficulties but his transfer happened miraculously.
Ighalo told Oma Sports TV: “Sometimes we dream about something, sometimes it happens, sometimes it doesn’t. But [my dream of playing for Man United has come true.”
“I have been a Manchester United fan since I was a child. Whenever they lost, I would cry. So, playing at Old Trafford is one of the biggest dreams that has come true. I am happy to be the one First and only Nigerian to play for Manchester United.”
“It’s all thanks to God. I don’t know how that deal happened. If someone had told me 1 year or 10 years ago, I wouldn’t have believed it. After that, everything was against me: 30 years old, played in China for three years, and then returned to the Premier League with a team like Man United. But when God wants to do something, He will pick you from somewhere and bring you up.”
“If I told you I knew how it happened I’d be lying. It’s just God’s will. I don’t know. I only know that I played for Man United for a year. And that was the biggest, greatest highlight of my career.”
