Striker Marcus Rashford could not keep calm when attacked by Manchester United fans.
After scoring 30 goals in all competitions last season, Rashford has struggled to maintain the same form for Man United this season. Accordingly, he has only scored 8 goals since the beginning of the season.
The England international’s poor form has been exacerbated by the team’s struggles, as Erik ten Hag’s side face a battle for a top-six finish after a tumultuous season.
The 26-year-old was obviously booed by some Man United fans. During the warm-up when Man Utd faced Newcastle United in the make-up match of round 34 of the Premier League, Rashford continued to be ridiculed by a home fan.
A fan shouted insults at Rashford. The striker quickly turned to respond with a clearly annoyed look on his face. In the end, Christian Eriksen and Bruno Fernandes had to run back to stop Rashford to calm the situation.
Rashford came in for a wave of criticism in January when he was fined £650,000 – equivalent to two weeks’ wages – after being caught partying in Belfast and missing the FA Cup match against Newport County.
