The Guardian confirms that Manchester United has found a bright candidate to replace Erik ten Hag.
Manchester United continues to search for a new coach to replace Erik ten Hag. The latest name to enter Man Utd’s sights is Kieran McKenna. McKenna emerged as a surprise candidate to replace Erik ten Hag, with the Ipswich Town coach having just helped the parent club gain promotion to the Premier League.
McKenna, who was on the Man Utd coaching staff for 6 years before taking charge of Ipswich in December 2021, is highly appreciated by his former team. He began to carefully consider the Red Devils’ offer if Ten Hag really left Old Trafford after this season.
In the past, McKenna turned down the opportunity to work in the Premier League when he ignored Crystal Palace to stay at Ipswich. Currently, Brighton is another club pursuing the 38-year-old coach. Whether this deal is promoted or not depends on Roberto De Zerbi’s future. The Italian coach has been contacted by clubs in Serie A and is preparing to enter negotiations with owner Tony Bloom.
Elsewhere, former football player John Murtough believes that McKennn is capable of replacing Ten Hag to lead Man Utd.
