Competing With Manchester United, AC Milan and Chelsea – Arsenal Leads The Race To Recruit Striker Benjamin Sesko

Sesko spent 4 years playing football at Red Bull Salzburg before joining Leipzig last summer. In his first season in the Bundesliga, the Slovenian star scored 13 goals in 30 matches. Not only that, in the national team shirt, the 20-year-old striker also had 11 goals after 28 matches.

According to German media, Sesko’s current contract with Leipzig has a release clause worth 43 million pounds, but this number may have increased to 64 million pounds because of the impressive recent performance in the year the player was born in 2003.

With his young age and huge development potential, Sesko is considered by Arsenal as a long-term option at the spearhead position in the attack. Although Kai Havertz has performed well as a striker in the second phase of this season, coach Arteta still wants to add a top striker.

In addition to Arsenal, Manchester United, AC Milan and Chelsea also had special interest in the Slovenian star.

Notably, in an interview with The Telegraph earlier this season, Sesko personally admitted that he wanted to try his hand at the Premier League.

Besides the 20-year-old striker, Arsenal is also paying attention to a number of other strikers such as Joshua Zirkzee (Bologna) or Viktor Gyokeres (Sporting Lisbon).
