According to news from Marca, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez personally convinced both Toni Kroos and Luka Modric to stay and everything was very positive.

Luka Modric and Toni Kroos have been gods at the Bernabeu for many years, with important contributions to the club’s success. Both contracts will expire in the summer, forcing Real Madrid to make every effort to keep them there. 

Kroos is an irreplaceable player for Real this season, while Modric, although only playing a backup role, is still very useful in Carlo Ancelotti’s tactics and knows how to shine when trusted. President Florentino Pérez understood that and personally persuaded the duo to stay at the Bernabeu.

Various meetings were held by Mr. Perez with the two Real midfielders today. Everything is going very smoothly. Accordingly, Modric has agreed to stay with the White Vultures for another season. The Croatia international fully accepted the change in his role.
