Legends of Arsenal, Ian Wright and Thierry Henry, acknowledge Manchester City’s dominant lead at the top but nonetheless predict a thrilling finish to the Premier League title fight.

With a victory over West Ham as the season approaches its conclusion, Pep Guardiola’s club may win the title for the fourth time in a row. But Arsenal, who play Everton at the Emirates Stadium, could profit if City falters.

Wright revealed his desire for a City slip-up on his podcast, Wrighty’s House: “There is a possibility that something similar could occur (City drop points).” He said, “I’m trying to figure out how to hold onto the hope.”

“I’m incredibly proud of this Arsenal team and thrilled that they’ve made it to the championship game; these players should have a very slim chance of winning, and they do.” What makes football so amazing is that you never know. I can’t stop picturing various situations in which we could win, but it’s difficult to look past this bright blue machine.”

The two legendary Arsenal players, Wright and Henry, are incredibly nervous about the Premier League title fight. Wright is crossing his fingers, but Henry expressed his concerns to the BBC over Manchester City’s history of winning titles:

They have control over it, and I understand how I would have felt. I kind of had that (laughs). They are the ones doing it; I’ve witnessed them do it numerous times, from the Sergio Aguero moment to the recent Tottenham game to everything.”It disturbs me to believe that they will collapse because I have seen them not collapse. However, there is another admirer who is saying, “Hey listen, you never know what can happen.”

Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice of Arsenal celebrate after the team's victory during the Premier League match between Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal FC at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on April 28, 2024 in London, England.
“Hopefully, when the referee sounds the whistle, it won’t shock me back to reality—because, regrettably, everyone else’s reality at the moment is that only the City supporters are arrogant. It can only be the City supporters conversing.”

“Avoid giving that look when you know you can’t support it. If I can support it, I give that look. We triumph? I see. Oh, don’t come interview me; I’m going to talk, I’m going to talk a lot, because City is a great team. If we win and we have the trophy. All I can hope for is that they will not prevail.”
