The last day’s fixtures are so important that Arsenal will not showcase their new home kit, according to reports.
Arsenal have announced the design of their new uniform, with the club badge replaced by a simple cannon motif. The Gunners will wear the shirt in 2024-25, and they want to repeat as winners.
Mikel Arteta’s side will face Everton at Emirates Stadium on Sunday, with the league title still up for grabs. They will win the title if they surpass Manchester City, who are also facing West Ham United.
In previous seasons, the Premier League allowed clubs to wear the next season’s kits in their final match. However, Arsenal is unlikely to take this opportunity.
According to The Sun, the Gunners have decided not to showcase the new design because the league title is still uncertain. Manchester City, who also unveiled their 2024-25 kit this week, are not anticipated to forsake their 2023-24 kit just yet.
While Arsenal may not be planning their final-day kit, they did appear to be doing so with the kit release. David Raya, who is presently on loan at Brentford, was observed modeling the goalkeeper outfit, implying that the Gunners intend to make his move from there permanent.
Arteta has already stated that Raya’s future plans will be discussed after the season. We will review where we are,” he said, adding, “Obviously, we are very pleased with David and everything he has brought to the club and the team, there is no doubt about it. However, those decisions are made by all of us at the club, and we shall see.”
The Gunners’ title aspirations were dashed as Manchester City defeated Tottenham, despite a squandered opportunity by Spurs’ Son Heung-min. Arteta reflected on the incident, saying, “If I had to pick a Premier League player for that moment, it would most likely be him.
“Michael Jordan repeatedly explained how many times he had the winning shot. It was always him. He was able to do it occasionally, but not always. This is also part of the appeal of sports. “What can you do?”
Looking forward to Arsenal’s forthcoming fixtures, Arteta said, “The hope was there, but it didn’t happen. Now we must perform our job, which will be difficult because Everton are in a terrific position.
“This is undoubtedly one of the most important weeks for many of us. Certainly, now is the most essential time. Cannot wait for Sunday to arrive. Very hopeful about the prospective outcome.
“So we have to prove once more that we can outperform the opponent and win the game. We have to hope for the best and hope that West Ham has a fantastic day and helps us achieve our objective.
