On his personal page, Marcus Rashford shared about not being able to attend EURO 2024.
Marcus Rashford is no longer himself. After an impressive 2022/23 season when he reached 30 goals in all competitions, the England international went into decline.
Accordingly, Rashford had a poor performance for Man Utd this season. The English striker appeared in 33 matches but only scored 8 goals and had 2 assists on all fronts.
This not-very-positive performance is the main reason influencing coach Gareth Southgate’s decision to remove Rashford from the Euro 2024 squad.
However, this striker still maintains a positive attitude. He shared on his personal page: “Wish coach Gareth Southgate and the England boys all the best in the upcoming tournament.”
Not only Rashford’s name was removed, but also Jordan Henderson, Mason Mount, and Raheem Sterling were also eliminated in the tournament taking place in the summer of 2024.
In contrast, coach Southgate puts his trust in new faces such as Eberechi Eze and Adam Wharton (Crystal Palace), Jarrel Quansah (Liverpool), Kobbie Mainoo (Man Utd) and Jarrad Branthwaite (Everton).
