Sharing on NCB Sports, Declan Rice revealed the positive things he saw at Arsenal after this season’s defeat.
Arsenal needed Manchester City to drop points in the final round to win the title but Pep Guardiola’s side overcame the Hammers at the Etihad. That means Arsenal spent the second consecutive season finishing second behind Man City.
Although disappointed to lose to the defending champion, Declan Rice still sees positivity. Sharing on NCB Sports, Rice revealed the conversation between him and owner Josh Kroenke:
“I was just talking to Josh Kroenke on the field. I just said, ‘It’s everything I expected’ – the level of class at the club is extraordinary from the leadership to the staff. Everything shows that Arsenal is a great place .”
I know there will be expectations. It’s Arsenal and they haven’t won the Premier League for 20 years, only returning to the Champions League. I try not to put too much pressure on myself and take it one game at a time. In football, you gain confidence from matches and as the season went on we became more and more mature.”
