Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois, English midfielder Jude Bellingham, and Brazilian striker Vinícius Junior were honored at the Real Madrid Sports City for being part of the FIFA The Best Awards’ ideal eleven from the previous season, despite missing the gala last Monday.
Vinícius, Bellingham, and Courtois, dressed in training clothes, received the prize at Real Madrid City Florentino Pérez.
“I’m overjoyed to have joined some incredible players, friends, and coworkers from my club and country in the greatest FIFA eleven. Bellingham thanked everyone who voted in a social media post.
Bellingham and Madrid’s Vinícius make the season’s top eleven for the first time. Courtois, for his part, accomplished the feat for the second game in a row.
The first two were unable to attend the FIFA gala in London last Monday due to an argument over the Spanish Super Cup in Riyadh and the Madrid goalkeeper’s recovery from a serious knee injury.
