Marcus Edwards is a player who was on Tottenham’s payroll. The Telegraph revealed that Edwards joined Vitoria de Guimaraes on a free transfer in September 2019, including the provision that Tottenham will receive 50% commission on future deals.

Will Edwards join Arsenal?

Currently, according to O Jogo, Sporting Lisbon can sell Edwards after he is no longer used under coach Ruben Amorim. In the wing position, Francisco Trincao is given priority to start compared to Edwards.

The Portuguese outlet also believe that Tottenham are keen to re-sign the Englishman, so there could be a battle between them and Arsenal to sign the 25-year-old this summer.

Throughout the 2023/24 season, Edwards scored six goals, while providing nine assists in 44 appearances.

Under the most ideal conditions, Tottenham would like to sign Edwards before Arsenal . However, as revealed by O Jogo, the Rooster will still benefit financially if this attacking midfielder moves to Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal competed to buy Sporting Lisbon’s ‘golden foot’ worth €80M with Chelsea

Portuguese newspaper O Jogo reported that Chelsea, Arsenal and Juventus all want Sporting Lisbon defender Ousmane Diomande.

Sporting Lisbon signed Diomande for 7.5 million euros in January 2023 from FC Midtjylland. It was a successful deal for the Portuguese club, as the 20-year-old has had impressive performances since then. It is quite understandable that Diomande is interested in many clubs, despite the fact that he has a release clause of 80 million euros. This is a significant profit that Sporting is aiming for.

Competition for Diomande is increasingly fierce. Chelsea  is said to have the upper hand in the race to sign the Russian Coast star, ahead of Arsenal, Juventus or Newcastle United. The Blues are said to have contacted the player’s representatives and are ready to meet Sporting’s asking price of 60 million euros, potentially up to 80 million euros with bonuses.

Anyway, Chelsea’s current financial situation is unstable. They are forced to sell players before buying. And this could open up opportunities for Arsenal, if they are willing to spend like the Blues . The Gunners need a quality backup plan for William Saliba, and Diomande is the ideal name.
