Manchester United are reportedly keeping an eye on Paris Saint-Germain star Xavi Simons after an impressive loan spell at RB Leipzig.
The Dutchman is currently traveling with his national team to Germany for EURO 2024 but there is much speculation surrounding his future with Arsenal, Manchester City and Bayern Munich all being linked.
Man United are looking for a new attacking player this summer. L’Equipe said Man United has interest in Simons , who mainly plays on the left wing, scoring 10 goals and 15 assists in 43 matches last season.
Marcus Rashford had a poor season on the left wing last season, scoring just eight goals in all competitions. Simons would be seen as a long-term replacement for Rashford.
It has been reported that the Red Devils are willing to part with him if they receive a suitable offer, but there are concerns that United will demand too much for the out-of-form striker. After a poor season, he was not selected by the Three Lions for the EURO.
Man United can own Bayern Munich’s ‘treasure’ if they are willing to spend €50M
The Red Devils are determined to bring in a new midfielder this summer, when Raphael Varane leaves Old Trafford on a free transfer. Among them, Jarrad Branthwaite is Man United’s top target. The English player is said to have reached a personal agreement with the 20-time English champions.
However, Everton want more than £80m from the deal, while Man United’s first offer for the 21-year-old was just £35m plus add-ons.
De Ligt has also been linked with a move to Old Trafford, and according to Sky Deutschland, the Netherlands international is valued at €50m in the current market.
The report claims United have had internal discussions about signing De Ligt this summer, with Erik ten Hag keen to reunite with the player he coached at Ajax.
De Ligt is currently with the Dutch team participating in EURO 2024. He struggled with injuries during the 2023-24 campaign and was limited to only 30 appearances for Bayern. This defender has 3 years left on his contract with Allianz Arena.
