According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Crystal Palace has recently asked striker Michael Olise to sign a new contract with the club.
Palace has specifically prepared an agreement with Olise that is longer in duration than the previous contract and includes a significantly higher salary. Furthermore, if he agrees to sign a new contract, the former Reading star will only be able to leave in the summer of 2025.
However, according to Romano, Palace’s efforts have no bearing on the process of recruiting the French star from Chelsea; the team has paid special attention to the 22-year-old player for the past week, and both parties are said to have reached an agreement. Reach individual agreements.
Last summer’s transfer window, Chelsea came close to acquiring Olise, but the deal fell through at the last minute. At the time, the price for the Blues to persuade Palace was only around 35 million pounds, but after a year, this figure increased to 60 million pounds because, after failing to land at Stamford Bridge, the striker born in 2001 extended his contract with Eagle.
British media has been reporting for the past few days that president Todd Boehly and his colleagues are discussing how to pay for the above deal because the west London club is in trouble with the Premier League’s Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR).
Chelsea will most likely have to sell some players who are no longer in their future plans before signing Olise. According to numerous reports, Raheem Sterling and Noni Madueke may become “sacrifices”.
Olise previously practiced at the Cobham training facility from 2009 to 2016 before joining the Manchester City academy.
This season, despite numerous injuries, the French star left a strong impression with 10 goals and 6 assists in 19 Premier League appearances.
In addition to Chelsea, Bayern Munich and Newcastle United are keeping a close eye on Olise.
