Manchester United are reportedly working hard to sign highly rated Arsenal youngster Chidozie Obi-Martin.
The 16-year-old Danish forward of Nigerian heritage is due to make a definitive choice on his future in the coming days, following interest from clubs throughout Europe.
The young striker has a Nigerian father, while his mother is Danish.
According to transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano, a deal between United and Obi-Martin is “imminent”.
He wrote: “Manchester United wants to close Chido Obi Martin’s deal as soon as possible.”
Martin’s standout exploits, including a record-breaking 10-goal haul against Liverpool’s U16s, have made him one of the most sought-after adolescents during the summer transfer window.
Obi-Martin, known for his explosive pace and accurate finishing, provides an exciting attacking alternative.
At 6’2″, he blends physical presence and technical skill, making him a varied danger in the last third.
His flexibility to play across the front line adds to his value, allowing him to fit effortlessly into United’s long-term plans.
Obi-Martin, who is eligible to represent Denmark, England, and Nigeria on an international level, has previously swapped allegiances twice as a kid. With a call-up to the Danish U17 squad and two goals in his first three outings, he’s proving his talent on the international level.
The Red Devils have already signed Leny Yoro, and observers see Obi-Martin’s pursuit as a sign of United’s new emphasis on developing young talent.
